Vicki Walter

By Lisa Maddox, Regional Center Director

Vicki Walter joined FiftyForward Donelson Station in November 2025, making her one of our newer members—and also one of our younger members. At just 61 years old, Vicki didn’t hesitate to jump right in and become an active part of our community.

She quickly began participating in our programs, taking multiple exercise classes, including yoga and strength training. She also enjoys joining us on our day trips and has truly embraced all that our center has to offer.

But Vicki didn’t stop there!

When she mentioned that she would like to volunteer with our regularly scheduled Bargain Basement sidewalk sale, we were thrilled to have her help. Vicki has transformed our Bargain Basement into a treasure hunter’s dream! She has taken great pride in organizing and arranging the many items in the basement, and she has been a tremendous help with all of our sales.

Vicki has also joined our Program Committee and is now a member of our Advisory Council.

Talk about getting involved! She hasn’t even been with us for a full year, and she is already making a wonderful impact on our center.

But perhaps one of the best outcomes of joining FiftyForward for Vicki has been the friendships she has made. In the short time she has been a member, she has met so many new people and developed meaningful friendships. At 61, finding a place where she feels connected, welcomed, and surrounded by people she enjoys spending time with has been incredibly special to her.

Vicki is a wonderful example of how getting involved, trying something new, and putting yourself out there can lead to a stronger sense of community and belonging.

We are so happy to have Vicki as part of our FiftyForward family and appreciate all the energy, enthusiasm, friendship, and time she brings to our center. Thank you, Vicki, for jumping in and becoming such an important part of our community!
