McDaniel praised for good financial stewardship, educating staff at seven locations
Nashville’s Center for Nonprofit Management recently recognized FiftyForward’s chief financial officer, Teresa McDaniel, as CFO of the Year. McDaniel received her award and recognition during CNM’s 30th Annual Salute to Excellence Awards Luncheon on October 24 at Music City Center.
“Good financial stewardship is so important for nonprofits, and for our population of older adults who often have fixed incomes, we have to maximize all gifts and funding,” said Sallie Hussey, FiftyForward CEO. “For these reasons and more, we’re so grateful for Teresa’s diligent and steadfast commitment to doing her job well and helping staff members to understand the impact of our financial stewardship on older adults in Middle Tennessee.”
McDaniel, who has been with FiftyForward since 2010, is responsible for the financial operations of the agency and its seven lifelong learning centers in Davidson, Rutherford and Williamson counties. Prior to joining FiftyForward, she was a business manager at WSMV-TV for 25 years.
“I’m honored and humbled by this award from the Center for Nonprofit Management. The work I do at FiftyForward is a labor of love, and it’s a privilege to help provide services for older adults in our community,” said McDaniel. “They’ve given so much to others over the course of their lives, and it’s a pleasure to see them now thriving thanks to the many programs and friendships they’re making at FiftyForward. They deserve even more support, and we try to run our centers efficiently to maximize their experiences.”
