Membership FAQs

Anyone age 50 or above can join FiftyForward by coming into one of our seven centers. Appointments are not necessary. An ID is required.

Five in Davidson County: Nashville, Bellevue, Madison, Bordeaux, and Donelson
One in Williamson County: Brentwood
One in Rutherford County: La Vergne

Yes. A FiftyForward membership allows you to attend daily activities and events at any of the seven centers.

  • FiftyForward memberships are $205 per year, which can be paid in one annual payment, or spread over 12 months via automatic credit or debit card drafts. Beginning October 1, 2026 there will be changes to FiftyForward membership pricing and offerings. Check your email, call us, or stop by your home center for more information.
  • Some people have insurance benefits that cover the cost of a membership, so please contact your insurance provider.
  • Full or Half Scholarships are available for those who meet income requirements.

Maybe. If your health insurance policy has a benefit named SilverSneakers, Silver & Fit, or Renew Active, then your membership might be covered by insurance. The best way to find out is to call the Customer Service phone number on your insurance card. If you qualify for coverage, they will provide you with a code number.

Insurance benefits can not be used to join our J.L. Turner Center, located in Bellevue, because that center is inside the Bellevue YMCA.

Centers are open Mon – Fri from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Centers are closed on national holidays and the last week of December.

FiftyForward members enjoy social interactions and exercise activities with peers. Examples of scheduled events include book clubs, bingo, karaoke, health talks, billiards, yoga, day trips, nutrition classes, live music events, and a variety of exercise classes for people at different fitness levels. Not all activities happen at every center.

Membership covers most of the activities that happen in the center. Extra payment is required when members go on day trips. Some classes, such as an art lesson, might have a cost to cover supplies used in class. A center’s calendar will note which events have an extra cost.

FiftyForward is open to people aged 50 and up.

Transportation is not included in the price of membership. Our Bordeaux center in north Nashville offers occasional transportation for members near that location for a small fee.
Some members needing transportation assistance use Nashville’s WeGo Access rides (https://www.wegotransit.com/ride/transit-services/access) or Senior Ride Nashville (https://www.seniorridenashville.org).

FiftyForward offers Scholarships for people who meet income requirements but does not have membership discounts.

FiftyForward is unique to Middle Tennessee. There are centers in Davidson, Williamson, and Rutherford counties. For specific locations, click here.
